Description

The µCAN.4.ti-BOX provides 4 inputs for measuring temperature sensors. Signals of resistance sensors as well as thermocouples may be acquired at a total sampling rate of 400 Hz. Sensor signals are evaluated and linearized within a rugged die-cast casing. The CAN interface supports CANopen and SAE J1939 protocols.

Features

The µCAN.4.ti-BOX digitizes measurement values of temperature sensors and provides these values in “degrees Celsius” at a resolution of 0.1 °C. Module address and bit rate may be adjusted either via dip switch or CAN bus (LSS, CiA 305). Auto bit rate detection is also supported.

Connectivity

Up to 4 measurement sensors may be connected to the module, the sensor type is selected via CAN bus. On selecting the type of sensor the cold junction compensation for thermocouples will be activated automatically.

Communications

The digitized temperature values of the µCAN.4.ti-BOX are transmitted via CAN bus. The bit rate of the CAN bus interface is adjustable within a range of 50 kBit/s to 1 MBit/s. A terminating resistor may be activated via a switch in the device. The CANopen protocol of the module complies with the CANopen standards CiA 301, CiA 305 and CiA 404. Both 11 bit identifiers (CAN 2.0A) and 29 bit identifiers (CAN 2.0B) may be used on the process data.
